Ruto accused the opposition party of mobilising the public to take part in protests which cannot solve any problem.

He said the protests could trigger anarchy.

Speaking on Sunday in Nairobi, Ruto accused the opposition of trying to take Kenya to the old dark days where people were hurt during protests.

He warned that the Jubilee government was not going to allow that to happen.

‘The opposition is busy mobilising the public to hold protests. We know their tricks. They want people to get hurt in the protests. This is taking our country back to the old days. The government will not allow such things to happen. We don’t want people to shed blood,’ said the Deputy President.

He further called on the Cord leaders as people who are panicking due to the defeat they see in 2017 General Election.

"The Cord leaders have known that the Jubilee party will win the next elections. They are panicking. They now want to do anything to blame us for their defeat. Storming the IEBC is not a solution. The IEBC does not have any power in choosing the leader. The mwananchi is the one who votes the leader in," said Ruto.

This he said in reference to Cord's plan to storm the IEBC offices on Monday over the Okoa Kenya signatures.
