Deputy President William Ruto has warned opposition against triggering violence should they lose 2017 polls.
He also challenged them to differentiate political parties from Independent Boundaries and Electoral Commission (IEBC) adding that it was a constitutional commission.
Speaking in Mombasa on Sunday, Ruto said the government will not hesitate to deal with opposition should they incite violence.
“We know that they fear losing polls and are charging their supporters to trigger violence. The government cannot give them room distabilise the country,” he was quoted by Capital FM.
“IEBC is not a political parity and should be respected. The opposition is targeting wrong institution rather than facing us directly in the field,” he added.
The DP was accompanied by over 20 elected leaders from across the country among them embattled Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya.
