Deputy President William Ruto has insisted that the Jubilee party aims to win the elections in the first round.

Speaking during a series of rallies in Western and Rift Valley provinces, Ruto urged the residents to turn out in large numbers.

"We need to win in the first round of the poll, we want to finish this business and embark on nation building,” said Mr Ruto.

He addressed rallies at Chesumei, Butali, Hamisi, Kuresoi, Mogotio and Kabazi grounds, where he told Orange Democratic Movement presidential candidate Raila Odinga to stop intimidating the military.

“The opposition should leave the military out of politics and allow them to perform their duty of securing Kenyans without being intimidated,” said Mr Ruto in Kabazi.
