Deputy President William Ruto said Jubilee Party will condemn opposition leader Raila Odinga to an early retirement should he run against them in 2017 election.
Ruto, a former Odinga ally has been traversing opposition strongholds and in a record of three weeks, he has visited the swing region of Gusii thrice.
Speaking at Kisii town on Sunday, Ruto said the opposition was ‘too weak’ to compete against the government and challenged Odinga whom he referred to as Agwambo to bow out of the race for an alternative candidate.
“I don’t see Agwambo beating us in 2017 because he failed to do so in 2013 when we were not even in government. We will send him to early retirement should he insist on running against us because we are much organised than his team,” he said.
“He is a Statesman and I don’t want him to be embarrassed because the opposition is too weak to compete against us. Let him give us an alternative candidate to face us,” he added.
The DP said the government will continue invading opposition strongholds insisting that Kenyans were tired of politics of ‘divisions and rhetoric’.
