The Deputy President William Ruto on Wednesday wooed the Abagusi community to rally behind President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Jubilee agenda for the forthcoming October election.
In a meeting held at Nakuru State Lodge, the DP urged the Abagusi to support the president and enjoy the benefits of an all inclusive government through development in infrastructure, education among other sectors. He went ahead to praise the Abagusi people who he said make decisions with their heads and not hearts.
Ruto also reminded the delegation that they supported the opposition in 2007 and 2013 and failed to be in government. Ruto reiterated that the Jubilee government has been offering development to both Kisii and Nyamira and will continue to do so once elected in October.
"You people of Kisii and Nyamira are very wise people. In fact, you are people who make decisions with their heads and hearts. You supported the opposition in 2007 and 2013 without any success. Therefore, I urge you to support Jubilee in October to continue benefiting from its governance from October," said Ruto.
The DP further reminded the delegation that Jubilee has the numbers and it is clear they will win in October. He nonetheless called upon the leaders to increase the number of votes Jubilee got from 50 per cent to 90 per cent.
"We have the numbers from MCAs all the way to the Governors. It clearly means we won in August. However, I urge you to increase the number of votes we got in August from 50 per cent to 90 per cent and confirm that we won," added Ruto.
