The ripple effects of President Uhuru Kenyatta meeting with his rival Raila Odinga has started to be felt.
Deputy President William Ruto’s allies have dung into the development after the DP was kept in the cold over the meeting leaving Kenyans to speculate.
Several Rift Valley MPs however assured their supporters that all was well within Jubilee and the meeting is not meant to ‘shortchange’ Ruto’s 2022 deal.
Cheregany MP Joshua Kutuny said supporters should not read much into the Uhuru-Raila deal.
“People should not read too much into politics. Our strategy for 2022 is intact. This should not worry anyone even our supporters,” said Mr Kutuny.
Ruto, who has been a loyal confidant of Mr Kenyatta and his defender and chief campaigner during the 2017 elections, was reportedly kept in the dark over the meeting only learning about it through the media.
The same happened to NASA co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetangula, and Musalia Mudavadi.
