[Photo/Silas Tiren]Moiben Member of Parliament Silas Tiren has issued a statement after he, alongside other three Jubilee Party MPs were de-whipped from parliamentary committees that they had been elected to chair.Tiren who is a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto, was elected the chairman of the Livestock and Agriculture committee before being ousted on Tuesday following a party decision. On Wednesday, Tiren released a statement, saying:"Mutilation of Parliamentary independence has been at play since I was elected, it is all in the name of regional balancing. Livestock and Agriculture is not a measure of regional balancing but it's what directly affects us, we are largely a farming community and our issues would be best implemented by a chair who is well conversant with this sector. My ouster was not anchored in the law and the standing orders but was orchestrated by those who want to curtail parliamentary independence and it's role to oversight. My undying effort to see agriculture sector and those practising it get value for their input still remains and I won't relent on that. I will continue to put forward my contributions in the committee discussions to make improvements in Agriculture sector.I performed my duties with great zeal and commitment in the 11th Parliament and I purpose to do even more for the people of Moiben and Kenyans at large in this parliament."
