Bomet deputy governor Stephen Mutai claims governor Isaac Ruto has fired him and replaced him with the Chief of Staff.
According to reports, infighting between the two leaders have been ongoing for some time now after Mutai declared he would be challenging the incumbent in the upcoming August 8, polls.
After his alleged dismissal, Mutai told media that he had been sacked for absconding duties.
He dared the CCM party leader to follow the right procedure if he wanted to remove him out of office.
“I have just told him if he wants to sack me, let him follow due process and we meet in court,” he noted, Tuesday.
He further accused Ruto of sidelining him from the county activities and also mishandling the county employees.
“For a long time I have been very patient with the governor, the way he handles activities of county. He is so personal; he handles the county as a personal property. At any time he thinks to move a staff he moves them at anywhere he wants without due process.”
''He is somebody who doesn’t respect any other person. Whatever he says has to be final,” said Mutai.
In his response, the former Council of Governors chairman refuted the sacking claims.
