Following the invasion of Deputy President William Ruto’s Sigoi home one suspect has been charged with ties to Al Shabaab.
According to reports, an Ethiopian man named Ali Wario was also accused of being in the country illegally.
Wario is suspected to have been an accomplice of Mohammed Mohamud, the man who was shot during the incident which took place in July.
He was arraigned in court before Milimani chief magistrate Francis Andayi, but refused to take a plea due to the lack of an interpreter.
Wario was charged with being a member of the Al Shabaab terror group in August at Moyale Township, Marsabit County.
He reportedly does not have a valid pass, permit or visa authority.
Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet said they are still investigating the incident as the motive of the attack is still unclear.
DP Ruto had left moments before the incident transpired and his wife Rachel was not at home at the time.
