Deputy President William Ruto on Friday flew to the port city of Mombasa to launch development projects where he called on residents to take advantage of the generosity of the Jubilee administration to grow businesses.
Ruto who was received at the Moi International Airport Mombasa by several MP allied both to Jubilee and the opposition NASA said Jubilee's only dream is to see Kenyan united and developing as one.
"We are engaging county governments to turn rural areas into thriving economic hubs through infrastructure development," the DP said while launching construction works for the Jomvu Kuu-Rabai Road at Jomvu Kuu.
"New roads will create business opportunities, improve access to markets, schools and hospitals, ease movement of people, goods and promote local industry."
He said the government will utilise Sh70 billion to construct roads in Mombasa County in the next three years.
Among those who accompanied him during the tour included Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya, MPs Mohammed Ali (Nyali) Badi Twalib (Jomvu) and Charles Kanyi also known as Jaguar (Starehe).
Also in attendance were Mvita MP Abdulswamad Nassir and former Kilifi North MP Gideon Mungaro who unsuccessfully vied for the Kilifi gubernatorial seat during the August 8 general election.
NASA-allied leaders who attended the event vowed to rally their constituents behind Jubilee and support its development agenda.
