The DP has never hidden his 2022 quest and is on the fore front championing for Jubilee leadership even in opposition strongholds.

But in a telephone interview about Ruto’s quest and his continued visit to Gusii region, Moindi dismissed his chances saying he was in a ‘wrong’ political camp and predicted his fall after Uhuru Kenyatta’s exit from politics.

“It’s laughable when I see him (Ruto) talking of 2022 instead of diverting his attention in rescuing Jubilee’s leadership in 2017 which we are sure they will lose to us in the opposition. That is so direct and even the mood of electorates suggests that,” he said.

“It is an invalid dream to have Ruto as president because he is in a wrong political camp. His politics will diminish once Uhuru exits active politics. I have never seen Central Kenya residents supporting an outsider, to be honest,” he added.

However, Moindi noted that the DP could rekindle his presidential dreams by going it alone in 2017 to establish a concrete political network.

“If he happens to go out alone, then he can improve his chances of being a political strongman but not working in Jubilee government,” he said.
