Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto says his competitors are ‘too weak’ and that he will use most of his campaign time popularizing Chama Cha Mashinani instead of campaigning.
Ruto also labels his competitors as Deputy President William Ruto’s ‘projects’ adding that they have nothing to offer to locals.
He was speaking on Sunday evening at a KTN news interview with only six months to national elections.
“I do not have competitors who can really give me headache. The ones you see are DP Ruto’s projects and I promise them a convincing defeat,” he said.
The outspoken Governor added: “In fact, I will use most of my campaign time campaigning for Chama Cha Mashinani as opposed to what my opponents say.”
National Assembly Deputy Speaker Joyce Laboso and former Konoin MP Julius Kones are set to challenge Mr. Rutto on a Jubilee ticket but they first have to battle in party primaries.
The Governor has openly expressed his dissatisfaction with Jubilee leadership insisting that it has done little to improve people’s living standards.
