Garisa Town MP Aden Duale says Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto will add no ‘value’ to opposition outfit in August elections.
Having been named fifth principal, Rutto, who is also defending his seat on Chama Cha Mashinani, is spearheading opposition campaigns in the South Rift region which is perceived to be a Jubilee stronghold.
But on Tuesday, Duale discredited the influence of the outspoken governor adding that he will also be among the casualties after August elections.
“Rutto adds nothing to NASA and he knows that. He is just going to lose like his friend Raila Odinga,” said the National Assembly Majority Leader.
He added: “Because I will be in office after elections, I invite you to come again. Rutto is headed nowhere and he will face a humiliating defeat.”
Before he ditched defunct URP party, the outspoken governor was a close ally of DP William Ruto, who he has since parted ways with.
At home, Rutto is facing stiff challenge from National Assembly Deputy Speaker Joyce Laboso, who will be running on a Jubilee party ticket.
