Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto has sensationally apologized to Kalenjin community for allegedly ‘misleading’ them in 2013 elections.

Rutto, who has since parted ways with Jubilee administration, has been leading opposition leader Raila Odinga’s campaigns in the vote rich Rift Valley.

And on Thursday at Baringo, the outspoken governor challenged the community to vote for Odinga for the sake of promoting development in the region.

“Jubilee has been giving us empty promises. They are only good in looting and if we make another mistake, Kenya is likely to plunge to an economic crisis,” he said.

The CCM party leader further said: “I am sorry for misleading you in 2013 but we have learnt a lot. This is the time to give leadership to the right people.”

Occasionally, Rutto, who could be Deputy Premier should opposition outfit NASA win, has had a spat with Deputy President William Ruto in public functions.

In his Bomet backyard, the former Chepalungu MP is facing a fierce competition from National Assembly Deputy Speaker Joyce Laboso.
