He says among the biggest beneficiaries are youth and women who he believes have been fully empowered ever since they assumed power at the hierarchy of Nakuru county.

Speaking in his Kuresoi South backyard on Saturday after officiating a funds drive for the Kuresoi South women groups association that is an umbrella of all women groups from the area, the DG expressed confidence in governor Mbugua's approach to leadership saying that under him, Nakuru had witnessed positive improvements both politically and development wise.

"Gone are the days when roads in Nakuru were impassable with youths and women languishing in poverty, we have tried to nurture an all inclusive society where no group will feel sidelined in our development agenda," he said.

Rutto called on the two groups to fully support the Mbugua administration arguing that Nakuru was undoubtedly among the best performing counties in the country today.

"Other than holding a youths week where you people were given the chance to give mingle with us and help us get to know how to improve on our service delivery, we adopted an open door policy where anybody is free to meet us and talk to us one on one on how best we can make our county better," Rutto added.

Rutto and his boss governor Kinuthia are the pioneers in Nakuru under the county system of government.
