Nakuru deputy Governor Joseph Rutto has asked residents of the volatile Ngongongeri farm to embrace peace.
Speaking Monday after he toured the area, Rutto said it is very unfortunate for residents to turn against their neighbours over land matters which could easily be resolved.
He also hit out at local leaders and administrators for taking sides in the ongoing skirmishes, and blasted them for showing a bad example to their subjects.
The deputy county boss at the same time assured residents that the county government was doing all it could to boost security and resolve the issue.
The controversial expansive farm which sits on the border of Njoro and Molo sub-counties has been gripped by ethnic conflicts over land wrangles pitting two communities living in the area .
So far one person has died while several houses have been torched.
