This is after Ruto vowed to support Kenyatta presidential bid in October 26 polls.

He has insisted that he is still in Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM).

In an interview with The Standard, Ruto said he has resolved to support President Kenyatta's but had not joined the ruling party.

"I have not defected. I am still the party leader of Chama Cha Mashinani. I was persuaded to support President Kenyatta's re-election by the need to keep the community together," he said.

Ruto further noted that he supported the President because more than 60 percent of the people who voted for him in the Bomet Gubernatorial contest voted for the Jubilee candidate in the Presidential contest.

"Only 35 percent agreed with me and voted for NASA. I did not want to continue disagreeing with the 60 percent," the standard reported.

He was also seen refusing to wear the Jubilee kofia (cap) to signal that he had not defected to the party.

Earlier this month while addressing a Jubilee rally in Kapkatet, Kericho, Isaac stated that he was fully behind Kenyatta and was confident he (Uhuru) would emerge victorious in the upcoming poll.

"I am here to confirm that we have joined you (President Kenyatta) and we will vote for you," he stated.
