Bomet governor Isaac Rutto has hit out at deputy president William Ruto for trading the Kalenjin community to benefit himself.

The Chama Cha Mashinani party leader said he alongside Kuresoi South legislator Zakayo Cheruiyot are the ones who can liberate the community.

“Our community has been taken for a ride by a politician who uses us to enrich himself,” said Rutto as quoted by the Star.

Speaking in Kuresoi, Nakuru county on Thursady, the fifth National Super Alliance (Nasa) co-principal criticised the move by government to evict over 1,000 families so as to create space for the construction of  Itare dam project.

“If Raila Odinga was bad for evicting people from the Mau Forest, then Ruto is worse,” Ruto noted.

Cheruiyot who had accompanied the Bomet governor asked the residents to preach peace.
