NASA fifth principal Isaac Rutto is set to launch his reelection period on Saturday in Bomet town where he is also formally set to explain to electorates why he opted to walk with opposition.
Rutto, the Chama Cha Mashinani leader was unveiled by the opposition team and should they beat Jubilee, his party will produce Deputy Premier Secretary in charge of governance.
Having fallen out with the DP William Rutto, the Bomet governor would be defending his seat on a different path in a region that is believed to be solidly in Jubilee administration.
The Bomet rally would be his second since showing interest of working with opposition NASA and would be joined by all NASA co-principals.
In August, Rutto will face a challenge from Sotik MP Joyce Laboso who won Jubilee nominations by trouncing former Konoin MP Julius Kones by a wide margin.
Ms. Laboso, who also doubles as Deputy National Assembly speaker, in her victory speech, vowed to neutralize the CCM influence in South Rift Region.
