Renowned lawyer Donald Kipkorir has called on Murang'a Women Rep Sabina Chege to resign following allegations linking her to a man allegedly conning legislators in Parliament.
According to Kipkorir, leaders in civilized societies resign for less offenses committed and so he believes the allegations leveled against Chege are enough to warrant her resignation.
"In Civilized Societies, leaders resign for less transgressions & crimes. That Sabina Chege had a “Special Relationship” with serial Gigolo Fraudster Wazir Benson Masubo Chacha gives her no choice but to resign. By omission or commission, she enabled Chacha to con her fellow MPs," tweeted Kipkorir on Thursday.
The man identified as Wazir Benson Masubo Chacha is alleged to have demanded money from Mps and other dignitaries by use of fake M-Pesa accounts.
During last week's submissions on cyber bullying in Parliament, the Murang'a legislator narrated how her details were being used to extort money from her fellow legislators and she further remarked that she knows the person behind the scheme.
"I have done my own investigations, I know the person, where he lives… I even have his number and pictures but I still don’t understand why he has not been arrested,” reiterated Chege as quoted by the Nation.
A further report by the Nation reveals some of the legislators allegedly conned by the man and they include Speaker Justin Muturi (Ksh 300,000), former Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo (Sh20,000), Cabinet secretaries Eugene Wamalwa (Devolution), Peter Munya (EAC), Margaret Kobia (Public Service) and Sicily Kariuki (Health).
