According to the residents led by Kisii County Jubilee Youth Secretary general Isaac Motari, most Kisii County revenue collectors lack basic training on customer relations and etiquette.

“The county will soon start collecting peanuts as revenue because most business investors have threatened to leave the county due to the bad means the county revenue collectors are using to collect revenue. Current County revenue collectors should be sent home and replace with others with basic training on customer relations to ensure no investor or businessperson is harassed to pay revenue to the county,” he said.

He said Jubilee leaders in the county will not condone unskilled workers to work in the county.

“Jubilee leaders in Kisii County are committed to do the oversight role by ensuring county workers adhere to the required rules when serving residents. Ongwae will not be at peace if he allows county reinforcement officers to harass innocent locals and traders,” he added.

Peter Nyamwesi, a boda-boda official accused Governor Ongwae of failing to respond to their numerous calls to stop county reinforcement officers and revenue collectors from harassing them.

“Ongwae has neglected boda boda riders who are being harassed daily if found they have not paid monthly revenue to the county. Ongwae should change the revenue collecting officers or he will be embarrassed when we stop paying tax and attack the fake and untrained officers claiming to be county tax collectors,” said Nyamwesi.
