Addressing the press in Athi River town on Friday, Athi River Township Ward MCA, Michael Mutua, said the officers were enemies of the county's development hence need to be sacked.

"Our governor need to know that the corrupt officials in his government are tarnishing his government’s good reputation. Furthermore, they are enemies of development and they do not qualify to be in any public office," said Mutua.

Mutua said that residents are not happy to see people misusing their tax at the expense of development.

The MCA argued that if the trend was allowed, the county would lag behind in terms of development hence leaving residents languishing in poverty.

Mutua threatened that he would mobilize the residents to stop paying taxes, if the officers will not sacked within one month, stating that there is no need to collect taxes only to be stolen by few individuals.
