More than 80 youth from Mavoko Sub County, formerly employed at the County Government of Machakos have been advised to drop their reinstatement case and instead seek jobs elsewhere.
Mavoko youth leader Johnston Ngige said the youth who had been sacked from the Sub County's Environmental department in January this year had wasted enough time seeking reinstatement into their positions.
Ngige argued that it was pointless for the youth to keep checking in the sub county's offices every now and then with threats to force their reinstatements.
He said as youth who have bright futures, there was need to advocate for peace and refrain from any acts that can cause tension or breach peace in the Sub County and county at large.
“It is not a must that the youth be employed by the county government. They should stop pushing for their reinstatement and seek jobs elsewhere,” he said.
The youth were sacked after participating in protests in the town to demand for their unpaid wages in January and have since been pushing for reinstatement in to their former positions that have since been filled.
He advised the youth to always make sound decisions without external influence especially from politicians who sometimes misdirect them for their own selfish gains.
