The Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) chairperson & Emuhaya MP Mr Omboko Milemba has questioned why the Teachers Service Commission has written a termination letter to him yet he had resigned in February last year.Mr Milemba said that he resigned so as to seek an elective post in which the TSC acknowledged his resignation hence he reads malice in the sacking.“I resigned last year as a teacher in order to seek elective position in Emuhaya Constituency and they acknowledged it. Now the same TSC has written a termination letter to me. This is pure malice,” Mr Milemba said.A letter from the Commission signed by PK Ayiego on behalf of Commission CEO Nancy Macharia, through the principal of his last working station, Kilingili Secondary school dated April 4, 2017 showed TSC accepting his resignation.“In reference to your letter dated February 1, 2017, which you requested to resign from teaching service, I wish to inform you that your request has been accepted with effect from February 6, 2017,” the letter reads.“In order to fasten the process of your pension refunds, you are required to submit the following: the attached bank forms duly completed, clearance from TSC county director, earliest and last payslip reflecting pension contributions and clearance from Kenya revenue Authority (KRA),” the letter further adds.Mr Milemba urged TSC to focus on its mandate and avoid meddling in Teachers Union affairs.“These theatrics by TSC are not necessary and it should focus on its mandate of serving teachers. Unions are not departments of TSC,” he said.Mr Milemba was sacked on Friday by TSC together with ODMs nominated member of parliament Wilson Sossion (the KNUT secretary General) and bomet Central MP Ronald Tonui after joining active politics.
