A Friday that began like any other for the classic East African Safari turned to be a sad day after a senior official died.
The official Jaideep Vohra succumbed to his injuries after his car rolled near Amboseli lodge as he was heading to watching the historic event.
The rally was from Mombasa to the Tanzanian border.
The late was also the managing director of Sarova Hotels. His fellow rally director Raju Kishnani, who was also injured, was flown to Nairobi Hospital.
"Our condolences to his family and friends," read the statement signed by Richard Leeke, who is Clerk of Course.
