Following Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore's medical leave from the company, sources from Kahawa Tungu have exclusively revealed that he was diagnosed with leukemia.As a result, the CEO is set to undergo a series of surgery in London as he plans to recover from the illness.According to Safaricom chairman Nicholas Ng'ang'a the CEO is on medical leave to receive specialised treatment for a number of months.Earlier this week Safaricom announced that Sateesh Kamath, the current Chief Financial Officer would step in for Collymore as he undergoes treatment."On behalf of the board, management, and the entire Safaricom community, I wish Bob quick recovery and look forward to him resuming his duties as soon as doctors allow him to do so," Ng'ang'a said in his statement.Despite his absence, the company is confident that they will continue to perform efficiently and have maintained quality services for their customers.
