If you have been referring to Safaricom Company by its name then high time you became updated.
The company changed its name to Safaricom Limited and Public Company(Safaricom PLC) on January 31, 2018.
In a notice on Wednesday morning signed by company secretary Kathryne Maundu the changing of name will not affect its normal operations.
The change of the name the notice read is in accordance to the law requring firms that are offering limited amd public services to change their names to reflect their true status.
"This isbisbto notify the general public that in compliance with section 53 of the companies Act, 2015 and in line with the approval granted by the company's shareholder during the annual general meeting held on 15th September, 2017 and the Certificate of Change of Name issued by the Registrar of companies, Safaricom limited has changed name to Safaricom PLC with effect from Jan 31st 2018," read pary of the notice.
