Photo/SafaricomFacebookSafaricom CEO Bobby Collymore has warned NASA leaders led by Raila Odinga against putting the lives of his staff at risk by dragging their names into politics.The Opposition alliance has written to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to probe and charge six senior officials of Safaricom claiming they meddled the transmission of the election results during the August 8 presidential polls.The six are, Frenchman Thibaud Rerolle (director of IT), Anthony Gachanja (head of technology security) and Shaka Kwach (head of special projects in charge of elections).Others are Robert Mutai (head of technology strategy, assurance and governance), Farouk Gaffour (head of network and service operations) and Andrew Masila (senior manager, strategy and architecture).The Raila-led group alleges that between July 25 and August 11, 2017 at the firm's headquarters, the officials, acting in concert with others, intentionally and or recklessly damaged and interfered with Kenya Integrated Election Management System (KIEMS) kits used in the elections.But Collymore said the move posed a threat to his staff and he would hold members of NASA responsible if employees or their family are harmed."These are innocent members of staff who just came in to do their jobs and to put their names into the political arena at a time when temperatures are very high is uncalled for. I have had to double up their security and their families," the telco boss said.Collymore also said Safaricom will not be intimidated into pulling out of a deal for electronic transmission of results for the October 26 repeat polls."We will not be intimidated by anything or anyone from playing our role," he added.
