Safaricom fibre cables being installed [Photo/Naibuzz]Safaricom has officially launched its Fiber to Home regional plan which is set to provide several subscribers with fast internet speeds from the homes.According to the telecom company 95,000 homes have so far been connected to its fiber internet.Now customers will have the option of selecting from a variety of packages starting from Sh2,500 monthly with speeds of 5mpbs to Sh9,999 at 40 mpbs monthly.The roll out plan is set to start in Kitengela town and will be looking to provide 14,000 homes. This is part of the companies plan to reach 40% penetration in three months time.Athi River, Buruburu, Ngong Road, Runda, Ruaka and Karen are among the other towns the company aims to target.Installation will be free all customers who register and they will be provided with a router and access to credentials that will enable them to have both Wireless and LAN access, with no installation charges.
