Giant mobile service provider Safaricom on Thursday opened a new one-stop service centre in Nakuru to improve service to its customers.

The shop, opened at the spacious West Side Mall Nakuru, is the second of its kind after Village market in Nairobi.

Speaking at the event, Safaricom Head of Department Central Rift Region Mr. Victor Ngumo said opening of the shop is aimed at easing congestion and offering quality services. 

“Today we are opening the second shop in Nakuru after the Village market in Nairobi and we are very grateful to the county for allowing us to continue investing in this region,” he said.

Ngumo also said the company has resolved to assist Nyakinyua Primary school that lost close to 13 pupils after the Solai dam tragedy

“We are looking on working closely with a school called Nyakinyua that lost close to 13 pupils. We are just waiting for approval so that we can move in and build the school so that normal learning can go on,” he said.

The event also saw Safaricom Twaweza caravan launched in the region to sensitize public on the various projects that the company is doing in giving back to the society especially in the health sector.

Nakuru County CeC for Trade, Industry, Marketing and Tourism Dr Peter Ketyenya, who spoke during the event. lauded Safaricom for having confidence to invest in Nakuru county.

“This is a show of confidence in Nakuru County and we shall continue to work closely with partners to ensure service delivery. We also commend Safaricom for standing with schools affected by Solai tragedy,” he said.
