Leading mobile telecommunication service provider Safaricom has denied claims of appointment of Yolanda Zuleka to replace its CEO Bob Collymore.
The South African is currently head of Vodafone Ghana.
According to the Star,it has been established that the report that was making rounds on Social media Thursday, with Collymore currently out of the country on medical leave in the US,hold no water.
''I have also seen the rumor making rounds on social media;ignore it,that's fake news,'' one of Safaricom's senior staff told the paper.
Collymore's vacant position has since been temporarily filled up by the company's chief financial officer Sateesh Kamath and the director of strategy information Joseph Ogutu.
Though the company is yet to further communicate when the Chef Executive who was taken ill in mid-October is expected back,it announced,in a press statement sent to newsrooms last month, that Kamath will assume the primary role of running the giant firm.
Ogutu on the other hand will take up the responsibility of coordinating its day-to-day operations until his return.
