Safaricom Foundation Chairman Joseph Ogutu said the center will be opened this month and will serve the entire North Rift region.

“We decided to put up the center because of its centrality and growing nature and also the town has almost all universities in the country. It will not only serve customers in Eldoret town but the entire North rift," he said in Eldoret town, Friday.

“More than 1,000 staff will be recruited across the country since it is a company with a national look. The staff will be employed on merit and nothing else,” he added.

He reiterated that their aim is to ensure that their services are felt by the common mwananchi regardless where they stay.

“We want to make sure that our services are reached out to all our customers in Turkana, West Pokot, Samburu among others. We urge the locals to embrace our services since they will benefit greatly,” noted Ogutu.
