As the country conducts its repeat polls Safaricom, Airtel, and Telkom have been given a vital role to play.
The three will be responsible for the transmission of results from respective polling stations across the country.
According to reports, 45,000 result transmissions kits have all been equipped with Safaricom SIM cards.
This move eliminates past mistakes where results from polling stations arrived at the national tallying center before scanned copies of Forms 34A (for polling stations) and 34B (for constituencies).
Areas where Telkom and Airtel are key providers will also adopt Safaricom as a backup system.
The three have will be responsible for different counties across the country.
Safaricom will be responsible for Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, Isiolo, Makueni, Kajiado, Machakos, Embu, Tharaka-Nithi, Meru, Samburu, Marsabit, Turkana, West Pokot, Elgeyo Marakwet Baringo, Kericho, Bomet, Narok, Uasin Gishu and Trans Nzoia.
Airtel Kenya will be responsible for Lamu, Tana River, Kilifi, Mombasa, Kwale, Taita Taveta, Nyeri, Murang'a, Kiambu, Kirinyaga, Nyamira, Kisii, and Homa Bay. Telkom Kenya will be responsible for Busia, Siaya, Kisumu, Vihiga, Nandi, Kakamega, BUngoma, Nakuru, Nyandarua, Laikipia and Nairobi.
