Renowned Kiswahili author, Wallah bin Wallah has urged political leaders to place matters affecting children at the forefront to safeguard their future. Wallah was speaking at the Kenya National Library, Nakuru Branch where he facilitated a session on how to improve Kiswahili. “Political leaders do not often discuss about matters affecting children yet they are the generation of tomorrow,” he said. He challenged parents, teachers and leaders not to hesitate to instil discipline so that their children do what is expected in order to secure a better future. “No child is to be blamed if they go wrong. Instead, parents, teachers and politicians should take the blame. They are in the best position to discipline the children in order to shape them. They should never hesitate,” he said. Wallah however challenged the children to work hard as success is not an accident and that they should do what it takes to succeed for there is no shortcut to success. “All children should strive to work hard in whatever they do with their lives,” he said.
