Kitutu Chache North residents have been challenged to work with the County Government of Kisii in safeguarding government projects as one way of to enhancing development in the area.
Addressing residents on Friday during the burial ceremony of the mother to Don Bosco Gichana at Marani in Kisii county Governor James Ongwae urged the residents to support his government by making sure that the projects which are in place are safeguarded from vandalism.
The governor remarks comes after some residents stole solar lights from Banda market after it was installed by the country government.
“We can achieve our goals by working together through safeguarding what has been put in place for helping us, it is so shameful for someone to steal a solar light which was installed at Banda,” said Ongwae.
He promised to give out an award of Sh50,000 for anyone who can give information of who stole the solar light form the area.
“We have set measures in place in which we are going to construct more roads in this area, also we are going to improve the health services so that you can continue getting better services,” added Ongwae.
He also said that they are going add solar lights in all centers despise the challenges from thieves so as to enhance security.
