Former Nyali parliamentary aspirant Said Salem Abdalla alia Saido, accessed damages caused when temporary business structures were demolished by the Kenya National Highway Authority (KeNHA) at Lights Kongowea, on Thursday.
Saido condemned the incident and questioned the officers on the ground on why such a move would be carried out without proper legal means.Saido wondered why his opponent, area MP Mohamed Ali was not around to help his electorates.
"As we try to find the answer, the focus is to help the Nyali business community," Saido said and further pledged to launch a legal onslaught against the move to demolish the structures.
KeNHA officers however said they issued a demolition notice to the traders as they sought to expand the Mombasa-Malindi highway.
