The family of the late Interior and Coordination Cabinet Secretary General Joseph Nkaissery has appointed Saitoti Ole Maika as the family spokesperson.
Ole Maika, who is the Office of the President senior advisor, will work with both the State House and government spokespersons in disseminating information to the general public, on Nkaissery's burial arrangements.Nkaissery died July 8, after he was taken to the Karen Hospital, for medical check up, according to State House Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service, Joseph Kinyua.
In a communication, Kinyua indicated the government would work with Nkaissery's family to ensure he is given a befitting burial.
This is after Health Cabinet Secretary Dr Cleopa Mailu was appointed chairman of the funeral committee.
"The government has today formed a funeral committee to work alongside the family of the Late Cabinet Secretary. This Committee will be chaired by Health Cabinet Secretary Dr Cleopa Mailu. The terms of reference of the Committee will be to provide all possible assistance to the family of our departed colleague and to ensure that the late Cabinet Secretary receives an honourable and dignified sendoff befitting his status as a gallant and true patriot," said Kinyua, Sunday.
In a statement, he added that more information and public updates done jointly with the specially appointed family and government spokespersons.
"The family of the Late Retired Major General Nkaissery has appointed Mr. Saitoti Ole Maika as the family spokesperson for this difficult period," he said.
