The National Alliance party chairman Johnson Sakaja has defended the Opposition over remarks by Interior Cabinet secretary Joseph Nkaisserry that it is planning to overthrow the government.
Sakaja who spoke on Tuesday during an interview on Radio Jambo, said scoffed at the remarks by the CS terming them as lies.
"I don’t think the opposition team is planning a revolt. That is unbearable and cannot happen. There is no way Cord can do such a thing," said Sakaja.
The TNA chairman clarified that the government had everything in its power hence the Cord team does not stand a chance to organise and perpetrate a revolution.
"Jubilee which is the government of the day has the instruments of power, weapons and more resources compared to the opposition, so I don’t think they are planning the revolution,’ added Sakaja.
He rubbished sentiments regarding the opposition saying they were often unseemly.
"The CS is my friend, but sometimes I feel that he overstates things when it comes to the opposition,’ added Sakaja.
He castigated the Nkaisserry for claiming that opposition did not have the best interest for the country.
‘To say that CORD leaders stand for obliteration and division in the country is incorrect, because those are our friends. Those are good people too but just doing their job as the opposition,’" he stated.
