Nominated MP Johnson Sakaja has refuted claims that there was bias in selecting the Jubilee campaign teams unveiled two weeks ago.

Sakaja says that the campaign teams selected were endorsed by the party national delegates.

The nominated MP says that the persons selected to lead Uhuru’s re-election bid are men and women of integrity.

Speaking on Citizen's Sunday Live, Sakaja refuted claims that there was discrimination and bias in selecting the teams.

“The Jubilee campaign teams were selected by the party delegates and they represent the people’s wish,” he said.

Sakaja asked Jubilee members not to create issues from the list stating that the people selected are competent to oversee Jubilee campaigns across the country.

He said that the party is focusing on ensuring that Jubilee government retains power next year.

The Jubilee Party unveiled its campaign teams that will popularise and sale party agenda across the country.

The campaigns teams have however elicited sharp reactions from Jubilee party members and supporters.

A section of politicians allied to the party and who were left out of the campaign team’s claim that some of the people selected to lead the campaigns are not competent.

Furthermore, a section of aspirants seeking to contest on Jubilee ticket claim that some people selected might use the chance to drum up their own support.

The jubilee members want no-aspirants to lead Uhuru’s re-election campaigns.

At the same time, a section of youths claim that they were left out of the campaigns.

Last week youths in Ruaka, Kiambu asked President Kenyatta and his deputy to reconstitute the list and involve them in the campaigns.

However, Sakaja says that the interests of young people have been captured well in the campaign teams.

Sakaja said that Jubilee party has the interests of young people at heart.

Meanwhile a section of Kiambu MCAs want an audience with President Kenyatta to plan on how they will conduct his re-election campaigns.

The MCAs led by Ngewa’s Karungo Thang’wa say that an audience with Uhuru is key before they start the campaigns. The MCAs have however vowed to support Thika MP Alice Ng’ang’a who was selected to lead the campaigns in Kiambu.
