Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja has defended himself after a section of Jubilee supporters accused him of ‘working with NASA’.
This came after Sakaja, a Jubilee Partly member moved to the aid of Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, who had been arrested.
Speaking on Sunday night on Citizen TV, Sakaja said he only did that because Owino is a fellow leader.
“(Those saying that) are stuck in old politics. The reason I went there was that the same instruction that was given to keep him there were the same instructions that I had to plead with to get him out,” he said.
He added: “It is not fair if it is an offence that you can bail him out, let him go out, let justice be found in the courts. Today we will laugh because it is a NASA person and tomorrow will be a Jubilee person,”
The senator further said for Nairobi to realize its full potential, all leaders regardless of their political affiliations must work together. “When it comes to Nairobi, I will work will all leaders, both Jubilee and NASA.
There is no Jubilee Senator or NASA senator in Nairobi, so as much as I push the agenda of Jubilee, we must work together,” he went on.
