Nairobi senator Johnson Sakaja has clashed with Governor Mike Sonko over the nomination of NASA lawyer Miguna Miguna to serve as Nairobi deputy governor.
In a Twitter post, Sakaja publicly took issues with the governor's decision and said there was no way such a decision would be allowed to materialise.
“Miguna will not become the Deputy Governor of Nairobi. Take that to the bank,” Sakaja said.
This comes just days after the self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) general cancelled the scheduled return to Kenya from Canada on May 16.
Miguna blamed the Immigration Department for not issuing him with a valid Kenyan passport.
Other leaders who have clashed with the governor was Nairobi Assembly speaker Beatrice Elachi.
“I would tell Miguna to first clear his issues with the Kenyan gov’t. He is Canadian. That procedure can take us 3-4 months,” said Elachi.
