Nairobi senator Johnson Sakaja has called on politicians from the opposition to end politics and start working for Kenyans.
He said the political and campaign period was over and that it is time for leaders to start working for Kenyans.
Sakaja was speaking during a church service at Redeemed Church in Huruma, Sunday.
Also present was Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko who asked the opposition to stop protests, saying many people had died because of that.
"A few people should not be allowed to violate the rights of others. We have witnessed women being stubbed, property looted and others destroyed. We will not allow this to continue,” Sonko said.The service was conducted by Archbishop Arthur Kitonga of the Redeemed Gospel Church who also delivered the sermon.
President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto were also present.
The two asked Kenyans to continuously build bridges of friendship and brotherhood because that is the will of God.
Ruto asked religious leaders to pray for the president and his team so that they can have the wisdom to serve every Kenyan irrespective of their political affiliation.
Ruto’s wife Rachel Ruto was also present.
