Nominated Member of Parliament Johnson Sakaja has reiterated that this year's elections are much calmer than the previous elections.
According to Sakaja, this year's elections are free from political rhetoric that always result to heated debates and unwarranted exchanges during political campaigns. He added that the country has not experienced violence or political mistrust between politicians that may lead to tension.
Sakaja has however blamed the media for coming up with statements and news elements that can raise political temperatures in the coming days.
"This year's elections are much calmer than any other previous election in the country. There have been no political tension leading to violence or mistrust from politicians and their supporters," said Sakaja.
Sakaja also accused IEBC of failing to attract confidence from all election stakeholders. In his view, the Wafula Chebukati led team has to come out and explain every detail of concern to the public.
"IEBC has a confidence crisis in the country. The electoral body should come out and explain every issue of contention to the public before we go for elections," added Sakaja.
Sakaja made the remarks on Citizen TV on Monday where he called on NASA to have a tallying centre anywhere they want so long as they do not announce the results.
