Today's assented law provides for the establishment of a national agency whose core mandate among other responsibilities, will be to source for paid internships for practicing learners, while they ( students) seek employment either individually or through the established authority.
The youth will be expected to register themselves with the agency which will, thereafter, help them source for opportunities both in the private and public sectors. As spelt out by the new law, all persons between the ages of 18 and 35 years are eligible, but they should be fully Kenyan citizens by either by birth or by registration.
The approved law is expected to solve the challenge of youth unemployment in the country by helping youngsters earn income as they develop and nurture their skills during their field attachments.
