Residents of Salgaa area along the Nakuru-Eldoret highway have called upon divine intervention as a solution to the perennial accidents being witnessed in the area.
The residents told this writer the dangerous stretch is allegedly infested by evil spirits which are responsible for the several tragic accidents reported in the area into New Year.
"What we need in this area is for the clergy to hold prayers here so that evil spirits which confuse drivers can be dealt with," Dan Kirui, a resident, said.
His sentiments were echoed by Rose Muriuki who added that at times, drivers claimed to be seeing ghosts crossing the road which in turn result in grisly crashes.
Tom Ogweno proposed that a monthly crusade is hosted in the area to monitor the situation.
In a span of two days into New Year, the area has witnessed the death of eight people following grisly accidents.
