Speaking after visiting several public health facilities, Samboja said that he was shocked to realize that a good number of them do not have title deeds.

The county boss discovered that three largest hospitals in Taita-Taveta County are among public facilities without title deeds.

Voi County Referral, Wesu and Taveta sub-county hospitals are among the affected facilities in the county.

The delay in the issuance of title deeds to the facilities has been attributed to the difference between managers and adjacent communities.

The governor and his deputy Majala Mlagui visited Wesu Hospital where they were left in shock to realize that it does not have a title deed.

According to Wesu Hospital Medical Officer of Health Mohammed Machi residents in the area have been resisting plans of issuing title deeds.

Addressing the press at his office on Tuesday, the governor promised to intervene into the matter with immediate effect.

"We will follow up the matter to ensure the needful is done for the protection of public institutions' land," he said.

Different learning facilities also stand to benefit from the new move upon implementation.
