Photo/courtesyTwo senior Samburu county officials  identified as Stephen Letinina and Peter Leshakwet were on Friday arraigned in court and charged with abuse of office. According to the Nation, the officials were charged with using their office to confer benefit in favour of Africanity Company, a firm that was single sourced to run Maralal Samburu Lodge.The prosecutor in the case brought before court by EACC, said that the contract was awarded without following the set procurement regulations.The 2 officials are accused of committing the offence on November 2014.The two pleaded not guilty to the charges and were given a bond option of Sh300,000 each with an alternative of Sh100,000 cash bail.
