For long locals have described Sameta high school as sleeping giant.
But currently the institution seems to have risen up from the slumber and has realised their position.
This is after recording a tremendous performance in the last year's Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
Speaking to this writer in his office Sameta high school principal, Clement Nyang'acha, said they are on move to high grounds.
Nyang'acha disclosed that,the school's mean improved from 5.7 in 2012 and 2013 respectively to 7.35 in 2014 KCSE results.
"The School has had its share of challenges in the past, but we are now set to change the negative public perception in our performance," said Nyang'acha.
He said,he was optimistic that the school's young and energetic teaching staff will turn around the institution's performance in national examinations.
“There is positive political and community goodwill that has been lacking in the past,” notes Nyang'acha.
The principal challenged local communities to support local schools to enhance their performance.
