Beef samosa are known to be most people’s delicacy in the city but in this county, they have invented new type of samosas which are green grams made (samosa dengu).
These type delicacies are fried by the road sides of the several Kisii estates in the evening during the rush hours thus making them available to many consumers for as little as five shilling. They fall under the same categories with chips mwitu.
With the rise in demand of these samosas, they have become every man’s hustle by the road side not minding the hygienic condition of their preparation area.
This business type is really picking up near the Kisii University campus due to the high demand by students who consume them for ‘leisure’ after classes.
“I personally love this samosa as I have no fear of what meat source has been used. All I know is dengu…” Cherotich Tonui, a consumer said.
Beef samosas in this county are now slowly disappearing as a new version of samosa dengu taking over, which are cheaper and affordable.
