Over half MPs in Uasin Gishu county will not be defending their seats in the August 8, polls after they lost in the just concluded Jubilee party primaries.
Kesses MP James Bett lost to Dr Swarrup Mishra while Edwin Barichiley who is the current Soy MP was floored by a close ally of Deputy president William Ruto, Caleb Kositany.
The vocal Ainabkoi MP Samuel Chepkonga also lost to William Chepkut.
According to final results announced at Rift Valley Technical Training Institute (RVTTI), Chepkut was declared the winner with 13,685 votes against Chepkonga's 13,556.
In Turbo constituency, provisional result indicate that Kevin Kwara, a businessman in Eldoret is headed for a win against the current MP Elisha Busienei.
Vote counting is still ongoing in most of the centers which were closed late, Tuesday.
Only two MPs, Oscar Sudi (Kapseret) and Silas Tiren (Moiben) clinched the Jubilee party ticket.
Sudi beat his main rival Stephen Kipkemboi Kewa.
